Archival Collections
Donald Judd
I was the project archivist for a two-year, NEH-funded project to process the papers of Donald Judd. I worked out of Marfa, Texas.
Michael Ondaatje
Immediately after graduate school, I joined the Harry Ransom Center as an archivist for three years. My biggest collection was processing the papers of Michael Ondaatje, winner of the 1992 Booker Prize. The picture on the left shows the box and folders containing the early drafts of The English Patient.
Society for Commercial Archeology
I spent a year and half as a graduate research assistant at the Alexander Architectural Archives at the University of Texas at Austin (UT). Along with performing pest and facilities monitoring for Battle Hall, one of UT’s oldest buildings, I processed the records of the Society of Commercial Archeology, a non-profit dedicated to the American Roadside. Along with typical organizational materials (meeting minutes, agendas, membership files, publications), the collection included nearly 1500 photographic images of motels, gas stations, and diners.
